Aktiviti untuk Minggu Aktiviti Semester 2:
"Projek Amali Penyembelihan Ayam Pelajar Tingkatan 4"
I can't believe my eye. Penyembelihan ayam?
It means killing a chicken by cutting its neck.
"This is a practical work for us studying in Form 4,"explained Zaki. "All of us had to know how to do it. During Hari Raya Korban it will be cows and goats. Hey Tan, now it will be only chicken..."
Ew... It will be disgusting...
I asked seniors:"Hey Rinosha, anything to say about last year's upacara penyembelihan? "
Rinosha:"Nothing. All of us hide in Dewan Kuliah Hussein and played.
We just simply go away..."
Maybe we can do that too...
I have no idea...
That day arrived. 29th July 2008.
Ustaz (Islamic Religion Male teacher) Fikri
said even non-muslims had to take part in the activity.
"But sir! Our religion state that we cannot see the killing of an animal, and hear the sound it produced before it died if we want to eat it!"
"What the nonsense are you talking? Even last year's seniors looking at this ceremony with great interest!"
"But sir..."
"Non-muslims are compulsary to take part, even in the barbeque after the ceremony! That's all!"
The ceremony begins.
First of all, it was the demonstration from the ustaz.
"Okey, look here. You must cut this nerve and this nerve, after that this chicken will be halal for us to eat."
I forced myself to look at the chicken cut by its neck.
Bright red blood dripped from its neck.
After it was cut, it moved for another 10 seconds before it died.
Ew... Disgusting...
Finally, Ustaz Fikri gave us permission to sit at the stone tables, not far from there.
"Make sure all of you take part in the barbeque after this, okey?"
After that, we are ordered to carry food from Dewan Selera to eat after the barbeque...

Adn called us after they 'sembelih' the chickens.
We went there, and joined them to clean the chicken's feather and fats.
Ew... Again, disgusting...
We even take photo with the chickens, head being cut.
It was actually fun when you participate in it. ^- ^
Our class had to prepare a big amount of chicken,
for our classmate as many as 29.
And including Pn Rafiza, our Civics teacher and an Ustazah.
We had a great meal, although I didn't touch the chicken at all.
This will be a memorable day,
we taking part in the ceremony of 'sembelih'.
